The Ali Birra Foundation has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Oromia Tourism Commission on September 22, 2025, at the Commission’s offices in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This strategic partnership aims to promote Musical Tourism and cultural development as a means to support sustainable tourism and heritage preservation within Oromia and beyond. The MoU was signed by Mr. Nega Wedajo, Deputy Commissioner of the Oromia Tourism Commission, and Mr. Asad Fahmi, Executive Director of the Ali Birra Foundation, in the presence of Mrs. Haboo Lily Birra, Founder and Board Chair of the Ali Birra Foundation, alongside officials and staff from the Commission. The agreement outlines a collaborative framework for the design and implementation of inclusive, innovative and sustainable programs/projects focused on artistic and musical tourism, community engagement and cultural diplomacy. This Partinership marks a significant step forward in honoring the legacy of the legend Honorable Dr. Artist Ali Birra while unlocking the potential of Oromia’s rich cultural assets to contribute meaningfully to national tourism development.
